The US approach to diplomacy starts with the premise that they are always right.

Putin invades a country and there is little actual bloodshed. Bush invades a country and 100,000 people die.
Not saying either is right, but you've got to agree which one is the better of two evils.
I just hope it all gets resolved peacefully and to the satisfaction of the people who actually live there.

So US rejects diplomatic solutions and democracy. Not a single media is willing to say Crimea isn't pro-Russia, why on earth would they reject a referendum before it's taken place? Maybe they are what we've always said they are.
Kerry, your actions in Iraq, Libya, Afgan, Syria had made talking to you very difficult, go home.

This has nothing to do with the USA. They really need to stay out of it: their foreign policy has been so flawed in recent years and they are no match for Russia.
This is an EU problem - the EU tried to lure Ukraine away from Russia with a trade deal.

The west has interevened in the Ukraine to overthrow a legitimate elected government and replace it with a pro-western mob. Now they say that the Crimea, which in reality is and always has been Russian should just bow down and accept the new order e.g., proxy western rule, Putin is right to resist.

Jaw-jaw better than war-war. When will the U.S. learn?
Meanwhile Cameron cannot see the hypocrisy that a referendum is okay for Scotland or Europe but not for Crimea.

Did the Russians interfere in Northern Ireland, or the Falklands? I don't think so. And what did the Americans do? I don't remember them helping during the Falklands conflict, and I distinctly remember that they had their fingers in the NI pie but not where we would have wanted them. So I say USA keep out. Above all UK can not afford more military adventures or to start an unnecessary world war.

In 12months there will be rioting back on the streets in Kiev against IMF and EU/ USA enforced austerity measures and loss of sovereignty.
The media will then report them as right wing extremists and anarchists, trying to subvert law and order, and democracy.
The narrative the media portrays is adjusted to western government and corporate interests.

One of the reasons the referendum is supposedly illegal is because it requires all of the Ukraine to have a vote on Crimea's future. So why is Crimea holding a referendum and keeping the Ukraine out of it wrong, but Scotland having a referendum without England, Wales and Northern Ireland is perfectly fine?

Putin, good job Sir. Keep these EU and Americans on their toes, they have been allowed to get away with murder for years saying that it is for the good of the people in whatever country they are bombing at that time.

Kerry, HOW ON EARTH can you NOT talk to Putin... Get on a plane and go and sit down with Putin, its this kind of stupidity that causes a war to start, all he has to do is sit down with him, but he wont, idiot! If we go to war with Russia is will be NOBODY BUT Obama & Kerrys fault for their handling of this situations, its been shocking!

It is strange that the US and their poodle the UK should make demands on any other country. Kerry and Hague, the massive hypocrites, preach one thing for other countries and ignore their own adventures. Has K and H never heard of Iraq, Grenada, regime change in Libya. Given their history there is an argument their 'services' were 'encouraging' the unrest. Beware taking the moral high ground.

'John Kerry rejects Vladimir Putin meeting'
This is typical infantile foot stamping US politics when they cannot get their own way.
They funded the overthrow of an elected leader in Ukraine by by paying gangs of thugs to organise riots and shootings of civilians to install an unelected puppet leader .
There seems to be a massive propaganda and misrepresentation of the facts by western media...

Still trying to fathom out why everyone must do things the USA's way
Also the BBC article which makes out Crimea is now lawless just didn't make sense the Russians interview said they were safe.
Perhaps 30 years ago people would have swallowed the article as being true now luckily there are other news media.
